In the past week, Third Graders at Hyde have been very curious about earthquakes. The students are asking some really great questions about how earthquakes happen, what to do if there is an earthquake and do earthquakes happen in New York. As well as their curiosity, they have also been showing their concern for the people of Haiti.

I wish people in Haiti had stronger buildings so they won't collapse on people. One of the teacher's in my school has family in Haiti. And I wish they had a more money so they can pay fix the damage.

I'm half haitian and i'm black too. I hope my aunt is not dead. I would feel really sad if my whole family that lives in Haiti was DEAD! So thats why me and my mom sent dollers and clothes to Haiti.
